How the Error Checker Works
It prevents you from creating circular references when making edits to formulas
It creates a red, visual indicator for the page, object, and specific line item where the formula error is occurring to easily find and correct the issue.
The error checker will tell you the name of which metric was previously being referenced in a calculation so you're able to either delete the metric from the calculation to remove the error or have a full reference for what metric should have been there and recreate the reference.
Where the visual alerts are displayed
As a red dot on the "Assumptions" tab at the top of the screen
As a numbered red dot on the left-hand panel where the error is occurring
As a numbered red dot on the line item where the error is occurring
As a red highlight for the specific metric where the error is occurring once you expand
What typically creates a formula error?
Deleting a line item that another line item is dependent on for a calculation
Clear these by editing the metric highlighted in red and deleting the "missing' metric.
You will also be provided the name of the metric that was previously referenced in case you need to recreate the relationship/ intend to create the metric again.
